MEET THE TEAM.

The Brain Matters team brings together a rare combination of neuroscientists, psychologists, behavioural experts, experiential learning specialists and high-performance advisors. Together, we deliver the knowledge, capability and passion required to help organisations build cultures where people and performance thrive.

Dr. Marcia Goddard

Founder & CEO

Neuroscientist | Psychologist | High Performance Expert

Dr. Goddard holds a master’s in psychology and a Ph.D. in neuroscience, specialising in brain-behaviour relationships and neurodiversity. She left academia to apply neuroscience inside organisations and has since studied the building blocks of sustainable high performance within global companies and Formula 1 teams.

Through Brain Matters, she helps organisations design cultures and leadership systems that enable performance. She also provides individual and team coaching, integrating psychology, neuroscience, and high-performance principles to create approaches tailored to people – not protocols.

Rani Piarelal

Trainer

Health Scientist | Leadership Specialist

Rani is a health scientist with a strong background in leadership, training, and guiding people in complex environments. From a young age, she developed a deep ability to understand different ways of thinking, shaped by close personal experience with neurodiversity and developmental differences. This early foundation translated into a natural leadership style: by the age of 20 she was managing a restaurant and successfully launching a new location, where her people-focused approach led to high engagement and retention. She designed and delivered highly interactive onboarding and skills training, long before training became her formal role.

In the corporate world she went on to work as a consultant and project leader, leading multidisciplinary project teams and coaching project managers. Today, she combines her scientific background with extensive hands-on leadership and training experience, bringing practical, human-centered learning to organizations.
